What distinguishes shorba from soup?
Despite being synonymous, soup and shorba differ in two essential ways.
First, whereas shorba can be had before or during the main course, soup is intended to be served as an appetiser and before the main course.
Second, unlike shorba, which never has any additional ingredients, soup may or may not have things like meat or vegetables.
Shorma is made with meat or vegetables, herbs, and spices; nevertheless, the flavorful broth is what is presented to the receiver, not the other elements. 

Why have shorba in the winter?
Several Indian spices, including saffron, cumin, and turmeric, are used to make shorba; in addition to being very healthy, these ingredients also contain thermogenic qualities that support the maintenance of body temperature.
It is an excellent option for non-vegetarians as well because meat is made but not given with it; this way, you may enjoy the comfort food without having to eat the stomach-heavy meat.
